“What you can rely on you’ve never relied on in your life. What you can’t trust, you’ve been trying to trust all your life. What you’ve been trusting has never been you. Try to trust what’s really you and see what happens.” – Ra Uru Hu
Human Design shows you what you can always rely on. You will never again have to look outside yourself for answers. During an initial analysis, many people say, “You mean there’s nothing wrong with me?” Some feel so relieved, they cry. Self-hatred, harbored for years, begins to dissolve.
Not only does an analysis give you information about who you are, it shows you who you are not. But, we are deeply conditioned from childhood with messages about who we need to be, to follow the rules and beliefs of the homogenized world, to be a good citizen and be successful in life.
Our not-self mind compares, makes pro and con lists and constantly tells us something is wrong with us if we do not measure up. And it has ideas and demands about what we should do to fix ourselves. From these not-self ideas and decisions, we can easily end up doing things like over-compensating to prove we’re worthy, avoiding confrontation and truth so no one will get upset, feeling the need to attract attention to ourselves, working beyond exhaustion, holding onto something or someone who is not good for us, feeling the need to act mentally certain, answer everyone’s questions even when we don’t know. The fear driven not-self mind, solely concerned about survival, makes decisions for our lives based upon layers and layers of conditioning, which distances us from the person we were born to be. Making decisions with the measuring mind is an outdated way of operating.
We are no longer here to be absorbed in survival consciousness, to struggle and fight on the material plane. That strategy belonged to the pre-1781, seven-centered human, the dog-eat-dog world that created winners and losers. We have evolved. We are a transitional form. The new world of nine-centeredness operates differently. When you live your design, the universe will provide you with everything you need. It will support you for living your uniqueness.
A mind involved with the machinations of survival will always withhold some truth in an attempt to control its future. Survival is not something to figure out. We are not in charge of it. We do not have to initiate everything out of fear that nothing will come to us. Kafka said, “It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking, it can do no other, in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet.”
As we come to know our optimal strategy and authority for living, we may find that not initiating, taking decision-making power away from the not-self mind and waiting for life to show up and deliver exactly what is for us can be difficult without addressing a lifetime of conditioning to do the opposite. The techniques of WaveMaker Coaching and Powers Movement are effective tools to uncover and process the layers of homogenization we carry.
As we experiment with living our design and our conditioning falls away, we begin to understand and accept our uniqueness. We start to relax and the person we were meant to be, our inner essence, emerges.
The universe wants us the way we truly are, we belong as we are designed. Our minds are not for decision-making. Reliable decisions come from the body. The mind cannot even tell you when you need to go to the bathroom. It doesn’t know, but the body does.
Our minds are for communicating our unique self-reflected awareness: to be enthralled, entertained and stimulated by each other, not bored to death with the same old dull chitchat. It’s possible to love ourselves and to live out our specific archetypal expression of humanity in its unfoldment.
There is a vast amount of information about Human Design online. You can find a free chart and a general blueprint about your design. However, receiving in-depth information transmitted by an analyst who is living her own design is the best way to learn how to experiment with your strategy and authority and live out your unique potential.
“What we know about the possibility of true learning, when the teaching is not headed for the homogenization of consciousness, is that it has to be received from someone who is a living example of what is being taught.”– Alokanand Diaz del Rio, Human Design teacher
